Packing checklist for travel
Travelling is much nicer, if you don't have to worry about all the details. I've found that this packing checklist removes all the worry I have about packing. This list is loosely based on the one at http://www.onebag.com/, but is adapted to your needs.
This list is not entirely complete. For some things, I need extra clothes ("good clothes", for formal occasions), but I know about those before I leave. I don't take stuff with my just in case. Therefore, this list is also a superset of what I have with me on any given trip. If I don't think I'll need my laptop, I don't take it.
Also note that I am fond of travelling light, at the expense of doing laundry (possibly by hand) at the destination. I usually manage with just one carry-on bag. Thus, for a week's travel, I only pack clothes for three days. I find that if I wash clothes tonight, they dry up nicely for the day after tomorrow, so three days is enough. Your mileage may vary.
