• cold boot
• log in from console using internal keyboard and mouse
• log out, attach USB keyboard and mouse, re-login
• enable wired network, do a search engine search, disable wired network
• disable wired network, enable wireless network, do a search engine search, disable wired network, enable wired network
• play music
• play video file
• play ripped DVD (directory structure)
• play real DVD
• insert USB stick, check that files are visible, unmount
• attach external monitor, check that it works
• suspend, resume
• re-do all above checks
